So we have the modern smartphone technology, great funding, awesome team, and great determination. However the mobile development world is packed with new and existing players which makes it hard for you to get your apps discovered. Here are 5 tips for how to stand out from your competitors and get more downloads.
With this rate, the App store is expected to reach 70 billion picsart apk download in 2013. So it will may add 30 billion app downloads only in this year. Also, it won’t be a surprise if Apple puts a second countdown, for the 75 billion downloads, in time for the holiday season. It would be apt to say that in 2014, Apple could be celebrating a 12 digit figure. Since its launch around 1.2 million apps have been approved at the App Store, with around 850,000 of them currently available. Today, the Apple app store is the biggest and most popular software store across the world.
We only have two concerns about this app. The first is that a large portion of Marvel’s catalog is not offered in electronic format. While we admit this would be a bigger issue if they had charged money for this app, the limited selection is concerning for true comic book fans who would love access to the complete catalog. The initial launch of the App had a library of 500 comics. We anticipate Marvel expanding its catalog in the future as more iPads are purchased by the consumer. We are hoping they expand more to graphic novels and not simply offer single issues.
I will let you know that we have not found price reductions to be the best strategy. We initially thought this might be very effective as the App store structure is set up to rank applications by the number of total downloads. Higher total sales and total downloads by price category are not currently recognized with Apple’s system.
What happens when your work does get to the App Store? Expectedly, some users will report issues. That means your work is not yet finished after your work gets approved and sold. Now and then, you may need to alter your app to solve issues experienced by gamers. Improving your work means satisfaction on the part of the users.
One last consideration: even if you break even from your advertising, you could increase your ranking in the store, and thereby receive more sales from the increased exposure. If you are popular, sales can feed off themselves. iTunes is a distribution channel, but so is Walmart. If you are featured next to the register, you’re gonna get more sales. If you’re at the bottom of the shelf on aisle 34, good luck!
This has generated a lot of discussion in particular about what Apple, or developers should do, but in the end when you build something that can only be sold in one store, you are at the mercy of that store and its policies. That is the price you pay to have Porting and Distribution solved for you (at least with Apple anyway). Will the Andriod Market or the Blackberry Application Storefront change this – or just continue to make Porting a headache?
